Non-linear Mechanics Lab
Welcome to the Non-linear Mechanics Lab at IIT, Roorkee. The research interest of our group broadly lies in the interface of structural engineering, standard continuum mechanics and mathematics. We use tools from continuum mechanics, linear algebra and differential geometry to understand the behavior of structural materials. We are specifically interested in various problems in finite deformation elasticity and plasticity, viscoplasticity, rheological models and mechanics of fiber-reinforced composites with a focus on damage characterization and modeling. We are also looking to expand our research area into computational and experimental mechanics.
